Al-Mikdad on Oman’ National Day: Oman Adhered to its Arab Role in Supporting Syria against Terrorism
DAMASCUS, (ST)- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad has asserted that Oman’s foreign policy was always just and it served the Arabs’ interests and the security and stability in the region and the entire world.
During a reception held yesterday evening at the Omani Embassy in Damascus marking Oman’s 45th National day, al-Mikdad told reporters that by keeping the Omani embassy in Damascus working, Oman has chosen to adhere to its Arab role in backing another Arab country in the struggle against terrorism and in preventing the destruction of this country.
Al-Mikdad encouraged Oman’s political and diplomatic role in following up the work aiming at fighting terrorism and at attaining peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria, stressing that Oman has stressed that Syria was maltreated by its Arab brothers who should reconsider and correct their policies towards Syria before it is too late.
The reception ceremony was also attended Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham, Member of the Baath Arab Socialist Party’s Regional Leadership Mohammad Sha’ban Azouz, several ministers, deputy ministers, Syria’s Grand Mufti, a number of heads of people’s organizations, some ambassadors and representatives of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions in Syria in addition to many economic, religious, social, cultural and media figures.
