Al-Halqi to Syrian Expatriates in Sweden: By Confronting Global Terrorism, Syria is Defending Entire World
DAMASCUS, (ST)-By confronting global terrorism, Syria is defending the entire world, so it deserves to be supported by all, particularly the Syrians abroad, Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi has stressed.
Meeting a delegation representing the Commission for Defending Syria in Sweden on Wednesday, al-Halqi said “Syria is the cradle of human civilizations and bright history. The Syrians have disseminated knowledge and the values of amity and tolerance in all countries of the world and they have contributed to the development of these countries.”
He hailed the key role played by the Syrian expatriates in establishing bridges of friendship and cooperation between the countries of expatriation and their homeland through enhancing the economic, trade and scientific ties. He also praised the expatriates’ role in uncovering the nature of the global terrorist war Syria is facing and in warning against the danger of terrorism on the countries where the live and on the entire world.
The premier called on the Syrian expatriates to urge the governments of the countries where they live to cooperate with Syria in confronting terrorism from which some western countries began to suffer because they have ignored its danger and have supported and funded the terrorists.
He called on the Syrians abroad to come back to their homeland and contribute to the process of building and reconstruction.
“The process of reconstruction in Syria will be carried out by loyal and honest Syrians, said al-Halqi, hailing the efforts being exerted by the Commission for Defending Syria in Sweden to alleviate the suffering of their fellow citizens inside the country through providing humanitarian assistance and conveying the real image of what is really going on in Syria to the countries where they live.
He briefed the delegation on the economic and service situation in Syria under the ongoing terrorist war, saying that the government has taken all required procedures as to rehabilitate what has been destroyed by the armed terrorist groups and to start reconstruction in the country.
He referred to the victories being achieved by the Syrian Arab army in its battle against terrorism and highly appreciated the support being provided by Syria’s friends like Iran and Russia in this respect.
On their part, members of the delegation voiced their firm support for Syria and hailed the government’s efforts aiming to consolidate the steadfastness of the Syrian people. They stressed that Syria in cooperation with its friends will achieve victory in the near future.
The Syrians abroad, particularly in Sweden are adherent to their homeland and they will spare no effort as to support the Syrian people and enhance their steadfastness, according to members of the delegation.
