Iran, Russia Urge Political Solution to Crises in Syria, Yemen

 

Moscow – Iranian and Russian deputy foreign ministers in a telephone conversation discussed the crises in Yemen and Syria, and underlined the need for finding immediate political solution to the political problems of both countries, IRNA reported.

Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Mikhail Bogdanov reiterated the need for political solution to  crisis in Syria, the Russian foreign ministry announced.

The Iranian and Russian deputy foreign ministers also underscored the necessity for holding Syrian-Syrian negotiations to resolve the crisis in Syria without foreign interference and pressure and the need for participation of different groups.

 Bogdanov underlined the need for Iran’s presence in the upcoming Vienna meeting on Syria, and said Iran plays substantial role helping to resolve the crisis in Syria.

Iran and Russia have underlined the need for political solution to the crises in Syria and Yemen since the beginning of airstrikes by the Saudi-led Arab coalition against Yemen that has resulted in death of thousands of people and displaced tens of thousands.

Meanwhile, Iranian Justice Minister MostafaPourmohammadi in a meeting with Deputy Head of Russian Federation Council Elias Omakhanov here on Thursday underlined that the common stances of Iran and Russia can change the future of the region.

Tehran-Moscow relations are rapidly developing and convergences between Iran and Russia on Syria can change the fate of the region,’Pourmohammadi said today.

The Iranian justice minister said the cooperation between Iran and Russia will result in preventing the US and the West not to promote their regional interests.

‘We hope that we could purge the Middle East of terrorists and that the regional nations, including Syria and Iraq, could determine their own fate,’ Pourmohammadi said.
