More than 5000 European Terrorists Joined Fight alongside ISIL – Austrian newspaper

VIENNA, (ST)- The Austrian “Die Presse” newspaper has reported that according to the European Police Agency (Europol) data,  5000 European terrorists are fighting alongside the terrorist organization calling itself “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria” (ISIL).

The newspaper cited Austrian authorities’ security reports as indicating that more than 233 Austrians have left their country to join the fight alongside ISIL and other terrorist organizations.

“ISIL is a terrorist organization with a horrible ideology that is full of strange illusions,” the Die Presse said, pointing out that thousands of civilians were victims of the crimes of this terrorist organization both in Syria and Iraq.

Austrian journalist and expert in terrorism affairs Petra Ramsawer has recently uncovered that more than 80% of the terrorists of ISIL and other extremist organizations are not from Syria or Iraq. 7000 of these terrorists were carrying European passports and they left their countries to Turkey where they were allowed to infiltrate into Syria.
