Cuba Denies US Media Claims about Presence of Cuban Troops in Syria

HAVANA, (ST)- Cuba has denied US media claims that it had sent troops to Syria.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry official Gerardo Penalver Portal categorically denied and refutes “the irresponsible and unfounded information regarding the supposed presence of Cuban troops in the Syrian Arab Republic”.

 The US “Fox News” network earlier cited an unnamed U.S. official as alleging that Cuban troops had been spotted in Syria.
