ACSAD, Alem Al Marifa Company Sign Cooperation Agreement

(ST)-  The Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Areas (ACSAD) and Alem Al Marifa Company of Digital Content (based in the Jordanian capital of Amman) signed recently a scientific cooperation agreement for digital publishing.

 The agreement was signed, electronically, by the Director General of ACSAD Dr. Rafiq Ali Saleh and  the other side Director General, Dr. Sami Khaznadar

 The agreement aims at achieving benefit from scientific progress and applied technology  atACSAD, through the scientific prints issued by the Centre , and to make these prints available electronically in the hands of researchers and Arab experts and specialists, which will be reflected positively on the sustainable development of natural resources and protection of the environment in the Arab countries.

The agreement provides for granting the Alem Al Marifa Company, the right to display the periodical magazines, namely, “Agriculture and Water in the Arab world,” and “Arab Journal of Dry Environments”, in addition to all specialized scientific magazines, scientific researches and publications, issued by the Arab Center (ACSAD) in electronic form and to make them available to everyone through the digital Arabic database “knowledge” owned by the company, and through the international information network (the Internet) to all forms of available circulation including images, display,  copies , storage, printing and others.

The agreements stipulates that ACSAD gave a license to the company to have the right to take advantage to display and make the versions mentioned available, is a non-exclusive license (non-exclusive right), so that the Arab Center (ACSAD) has the rightto give license to others in all or some of the above-mentioned forms of circulation.
