Tehran –Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Sunday that situation after implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) for Iran and West will be very promising.
‘In case of removal of the obstacle created by the Zionist propaganda with the aim of preventing expansion of cooperation between Iran and the Western governments, extensive grounds will be available for economic cooperation,’ Rafsanjani said.
Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting with Polish Senate Speaker, Bogdan Borusewicz.
Political and economic relations between Iran and Poland had many ups and downs but it never halted indicating mutual respect of the two governments, Rafsanjani said.
Referring to the existing crisis in Ukraine, Yemen, some parts of Africa and elsewhere in the world, he said the only solution to all these problems is negotiations and paying due attention to humanitarian issues.
He expressed concern about escalation of hostility in the international community and said that escalation of hostility or bombardment might postpone demands of the nations, but, it could not be regarded as a helpful means, Rafsanjani said.
‘Why European union with over 30 countries is reluctant to host some one million displaced people when Iran sheltered over three million of Afghan and Iraqi war refugees during the Iraqi-imposed war and the US invasion of Iraq?’ he said.
Migration of over 120,000 Polish refugees to Iran during World War II proved Iran’s hospitality and the way it treated with displaced people, Rafsanjani said.
International community expects the European governments, the so-called advocates of human rights to be more generous to deal with refugees, the victims of wrong policies of the Western governments in the Middle East, he said.
Iran spares no limits for expansion of relations and cooperation with Poland and expects the same from Polish government, Rafsanjani said.
Araqchi heralds new phase of implementing JCPOA
Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said on Sunday that after Majlis puts seal of approval on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, a new phase will open to implement the JCPOA.
He said that the Iranian people are a peace-loving nation and have contributed to international peace throughout history.
‘Iran never waged any war in the past 250 years and this is a principle of teachings of our religion,’ he said.
To live in peace, all should try to create its required circumstances, he said.
To prevent a war, you should be well prepared to deal with it, he said adding that this is the world of might and those who feel weak will be trampled upon, therefore you should be powerful to guarantee to live in peace, Araqchi said.
Iranian civilization and cultural teachings taught the Iranians — ‘if you wish to live in peace, you should be powerful,’ he said.
