Information ministry, (WHO) discuss enhancing joint cooperation

DAMASCUS – Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi discussed on Sunday with Resident Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Syria Elizabeth Hoff the joint cooperation to enhance health awareness among people.

Al-Zoubi reviewed the ministry’s efforts to raise cultural and health awareness, pointing out that pre-crisis Syria had gone a long way in the health sector in light of the spread of hundreds of medical centers and hospitals, SANA reported.

The minister affirmed that the current crisis has posed huge challenges for the health sector due to terrorist acts, hailing the role of WHO in providing support for the Syrian health sector.

For her part, Hoff expressed hope in reaching a joint plan with Information Ministry and promoting joint cooperation and coordination to integrate journalists in the issues of preserving public health in society and addressing the problems of the poor and needy people and families who are residing in temporary centers.
