Information Minister: Martyr Hamedani killed in line of advisory mission in Syria

DAMASCUS – Information Minister Omran al- Zoubi said Iranian Brig. Gen. Hossein Hamedani was killed in the line of performing an advisory mission in Syria.

The Minister praised the virtues of the late Brigadier General, who was targeted by the terrorist organizations in Aleppo countryside on Friday, SANA reported.

 

Al-Zoubi expressed Syria’s condolences to Hamedani’s family and the Iranian people and leadership and Congratulated them over the “great martyrdom” of the late commander.

Iran paid last tribute today to Hamedani, whose body was escorted to his final resting place amid wide official and popular participation.

Representatives of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Chief Commander of the Revolutionary Guards Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari were present at the funeral ceremony, which was also attended by the Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud.

The Ambassador said Hamedani reflected in his martyrdom the close link binding the front of the Resistance, which is being further strengthened today in the face of terrorism.
