Al-Halaqi inaugurates a number of vital projects in Tartous

Tartous – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad and on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of October Liberation War, Premier Wael al-Halaqi laid the foundation stone for a number of vital and development projects in Tartous province with a total value of around SYP 15 billion.

Al-Halaqi inspected the crude oil storage tanks project in Banias and the reversed pumping stations in Banias Refinery, SANA reported.

 

 Estimated at around SYP 750 million, the project will help in providing Homs Refinery with crude oil imports and dispensing with transportation by tankers.

Al-Halaqi affirmed during his visit to Tartous Port that the government is seeking to develop transportation sector, adding that the government had allocated the required sums of money to develop the port of Tartous and provide it with modern technologies.

Inaugurating the new expansion project in Tartous Cement Plant with an overall value of SYP 7 billion, Premier al-Halaqi stressed the government’s interest in national industries, considering that achieving industrial security contribute to enhancing the capabilities of the Syrian state.

Laying the foundation stone for the expansion project of al-Sinn Spring for Mineral Waters with an estimated value of about SYP 700 million, al-Halaqi asserted the government’s keenness to preserve water sources.

He noted that this project will provide bottles of mineral water in the Syrian markets instead of importing them within the framework of the government’s policy of rationalizing the use of natural resources.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the al-Watnia Private Mill at an estimated value of SYP 1.5 billion with a production capacity of 350 tons of wheat per day.

He also laid the foundation stone of the University of Tartous with an initial cost of SYP 1 billion, adding that the project will be along with other Syrian universities “a beacon of science and knowledge.”

Al-Halaqi also inaugurated a number of workers’ housing projects in the province with an overall value of around SYP 1.166 billion.
