DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)_Prime Minister has inspected Adra Cement Company and the Ein al-Fejeh Water Unit in Damascus countryside upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad.

Dr. Wael al-Halaqi told reporters today that the government attaches great importance to the Adra Cement Company as it directly linked to the reconstruction process.

“The company produces about 2200 tons of cement per day for southern provinces,” he said, confirming that cement is available in the market despite the fact that some factories stopped production because of terrorist attacks.

The Premier indicated that the Cabinet’s Economic Committee has banned cement imports to protect national industry and to meet market needs through domestic production.

According to the official news agency (SANA), al-Halaqi hailed the efforts being exerted by the company’s workers and their sacrifices, stressing that the government is seeking to improve the living standards of workers.

Touring Ein al-Fejeh Water Unit in Jamraya area, the PM asserted that water units in Damascus Countryside and Tartous are working at full production capacity to meet the national market’s need of water and make profits.

He, in addition, visited military checkpoints in Damascus countryside and conveyed the greetings of President al-Assad to the military personnel.
