Iran Praises Syrians’ Resistance to Terrorists

Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday that resistance of the people and leaders of Syria to the terrorists is praiseworthy.

Speaking to Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmoud, Larijani said that the Syrians as well as leaders of Syria have passed hard and difficult times over recent years and the resistance is praiseworthy in real sense of the word.

He said Iran’s support for Syrian people is based on a religious and moral duty.

‘The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue supporting Syria, on belief that with a new political strategy and mechanism, the Syrian leaders should be provided with an opportunity to solve their domestic problem and overcome the terrorists,’ he added.

Syrian ambassador provided Larijani with a report on the current developments in his country.

Referring to Iran’s support to resistance of Syrian people to Takfiri terrorists, said people and officials of Syria have always been thankful to Iran.

He said the main priority for international community should be campaign against terrorism and the terrorists involved in committing crimes in the Syrian territory.

He added that as President Bashar Assad recently emphasized that resistance to terrorists and Takfiri groups will continue.

Mahmoud concluded that the standing, position and role of the Islamic Republic of Iran about Syria is very important and vital and that’s a fact that western states many other countries acknowledge.
