Syrian army retakes strategic hills in Palmyra from ISIS, foils infiltration bid into Aleppo city
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has advanced in Zabadani city and in Palmyra countryside as well as in Daraa al-Balad amid continuity of operations against terrorist organizations in Aleppo, Idleb and Hama countryside.
The official news agency (SANA) reported today that army units in cooperation with the Lebanese resistance regained control over several buildings in Ein Hemmeh, al-Midani, al-Kobra and al-Azemeh areas inside Zabadani city in the northwestern countryside of Damascus.
Another advance was made yesterday by army units in the western countryside of Palmyra.
A military source clarified that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups fully controlled Jazal town, al-Deeb hill and strategic hills in Palmyra countryside after eliminating all ISIS terrorist groupings there.
The advance in Palmyra countryside coincided with foiling terrorist organizations’ infiltration bids from al-Rashedin area and the scientific researches center into Aleppo city and killing many of al-Nusra Front terrorists, who infiltrated into the outskirts of al-Baath city in Quneitra province.
Two days ago, an army unit in cooperation with popular defense groups ambushed al-Nusra Front terrorists outside Hader town in Quneitra countryside, killing 2 terrorists and wounding several others.
Advance in Daraa al-Balad
In southern Daraa province, army units carried out fresh operations against terrorist organizations in Daraa la-Balad area and killed many terrorist there.
Large numbers of al-Nusra Front terrorists were killed yesterday as army units recaptured 9 buildings in al-Mansheyeh quarter in the same area.
While in Damascus countryside, army units recaptured today Abo Zied hill and surrounding hills overlooking Damascus-Homs highway in Harasta area in the wake of concentrated operations during which large numbers of Jaish al-Islam terrorists were killed, according to a military source.
The source declared earlier that an army unit destroyed an arms cache and 2 cars belonging to the Jaish al-Islam terrorists during intensified operations against their sites in Jabal al-Maqale’a in the western edge of Duma area.
Further terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Jaish al-Fateh’ [army of the conquest] were killed during operations in Idleb and Hama countryside.
SANA said today that army units killed 11 terrorists from the ‘Jaish al-Fateh’ in the southwestern countryside of Idleb and in the northern countryside of Hama.
Separately, the Syrian TV channel reported that the competent authorities regularized situations of 104 wanted persons from Talbeseh, al-Rastan and al-Qusair areas in Homs province.
