Syrian army makes fresh progress in Zabadani city, kills key Jordanian ISIS leader

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has targeted ISIS hideouts in the northeastern countryside of Sweida and has killed key Jordanian ISIS ringleader in Homs countryside.

According to a military source, army units and popular defense groups carried out today operations against ISIS terrorists on the outskirts of Sa’ada town in the northeastern countryside of Sweida where many terrorists were eliminated.

The operations came a day after terrorists exploded 2 car bombs in Sweida city, killing at least 26 persons and wounding scores more.

Two days ago, an army unit destroyed 2 cars equipped with heavy machine guns plus armored car belonging to ISIS terrorists in al-Qaser and Rajm al-Dawleh towns in the northeastern countryside of Sweida.

Moving towards the central region, social media said that one of the top ISIS ringleader of Jordanian origin , dubbed Abo al-Qa’aqa’a, was killed in an air strikes against ISIS sites in al-Qaryaten city in the eastern countryside of Homs.

Abo al-Qa’aqa’a left the Jordanian territories 3 years ago and he was the ‘Emir of al-Qaryaten in Damascus principality’.

In the northern countryside of Homs, army units   eliminated more than 14 terrorists in al-Dar al-Kabira area in airstrikes.

 As for Zabadani battle north-west of Damascus, the official news agency (SANA) said yesterday that army units and the Lebanese resistance recaptured most parts of al-Nabo’a quarter in the northeastern edge of the city.

“Army units and the Lebanese resistance arrived to the outskirts of the ‘al-Rahmeh’ Mosque’ in al-Nabo’a quarter and defused a network of mines and explosive devices planed by terrorists before they were driven out of the area,” a military source declared.  

Fresh progress was made today by Syrian army and the Lebanese resistance in the same city [Zabadani] as they recaptured the alley of Beit al-Dalati and several buildings. 

25 terrorists killed 

While in the eastern and western Ghouta of Damascus, army units killed over 25 terrorists.

“5 terrorists from al-Nusra Front, including a Chechen, were killed in a concentrated strike on terrorist groupings at the southern entrance to Marj al-Sultan town in the Eastern Ghpouta of Damascus, ” sources said, adding that 5 more terrorist from the so-called the ‘jaish al-Islam’ were eliminated in an operation in Zamalka area.

The sources indicated that army units eliminated 7 terrorists in Erbin and Hammoreyeh areas and mowed down leader of the so-called ‘snipers battalion’ which is affiliated to the ‘Islam’ brigade in Zibdin farms.    

There were also clashes between an army unit and several terrorists in al-Zamaneyeh town.

The clashes ended with the death of many terrorists, SANA confirmed, pointing out that army units regained control over several buildings in al-Jameyyat quarter in Darayya city in the western Ghouta of Damascus. 

In addition, Syrian warplanes bombed the Jaish al-Fateh terrorists’ hideouts in the countrsides of Idleb and Hama.

Well over 11 al-Nusra Front terrorists were killed and 6 vehicles belonging to them  were destroyed in an area located between Mhambal and al-Frekeh towns.

Further terrorists were killed as army units targeted terrorist organizations in several areas in and outside Aleppo.
