Moscow – Chairman of Russian Mufti Councils Ravil Gaynutdin said Iran has a significant role as a pioneer in supporting Islam and establishment of stability in the region.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati in which the Russian mufti also warned the threat of extremism, salafism, wahabbism, and Daesh terrorists against Islam and Muslms.
‘Terrorist and takfiri groups besides deviated thoughts have heavily damaged Islam and marred the image of this auspicious religious,’ he added.
He invited Iranian Supreme Leader, President, and Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the Moscow Grand Mosque on September 23 and welcomed the cooperation between Russian Mufti Councils and Iranian Embassy in Moscow as a sign of solidarity in the Islamic World.
Jannati who is in Moscow to attend the city’s book exhibition commended the role played by the Mufti Gaynutdin in fosterin unity all communities in Russia.
The Iranian minister supported expansion of cooperation with Russia specially in cultural fields and said President Vladimir Putin has a positive approach toward Muslims.
He called for the unity of regional countries to overcome crises and stressed the fight against Daeshterrorist group.
