The 5th festival for handicapped in sweida

The Syrian Association for Handicapped has organized recently in the headquarter of al-Sweida council city the 5thfestival for handicapped.

The annual event aimed at spotting light on the handicapped activities during the year through exhibiting their manual works and products.

 

Head of the Association in Sweida Nizar Shoujaa spoke to Syria time’s reporter in the city about the festival aims and role regarding offering opportunity for the handicapped to contact directly with their society.

“The festival plays main role in ensuring psychological and monetary support for handicapped through enabling them to sell their products by themselves to the citizens “The head also said, referring to the association key role in ensuring the suitable place for the marketing process in cooperation with the labor and Social Affairs Directorate in sweida.

The 15-day festival which included educational, sport and artistic activities took place in the streets of sweida to enable the handicapped to deal freely with people.

The educational day included the handicapped literary activities including short stories, poetry and media articles.

The festival also included a medical symposium on the best ways for offering psychological support for handicapped.

The symposium delivered by Dr .Ayhamabo-Khair.

The sport day’s activities of the festival scheduled to coincide with the handicapped’s physical potential.

A special day allocated for the disabled students was also during the festival 15-day.

A traditional day concentrated on al-Sweida heritage, including the popular poetry customs, weddings and musical instruments namely al-Rababi was also among the festival program.

A day for protecting environment in al-Sweida

city also was during the festival 15-day in addition to a special day for children.

The environment day included lectures on the required ways for protecting our mountal environment.

On the committee which was in charge for organizing the festival the head said that the members are Nizar Shoujaa Bassim al-Shater, hanan Muzher, Emad Barouki and raghda Qutash.

Finally the Head included his statement by saying that our way out of the crisis is through happiness, hope and work hand in hand to overcome our homeland ordeal.
