Official describes capture of Anbar as Iraqi Army’s priority, Mosul operations to continue

On the other hand, Sa’ad Al-Hadithi, Spokesman for the Iraqi Prime Minster’s Office, underlined that taking back control of Anbar province tops the agenda of the Baghdad government.

The logistic and military preparations for winning back Nineveh province are underway, but the military commanders prioritize seizing back Al-Anbar and Salahuddin provinces first,” Al-Hadithi told FNA on Wednesday.

Baghdad will never give up the operations for taking back Nineveh province from the ISIL and taking it back the Western province is one of the Iraqi government’s main objectives, he said.

On Sunday, the security experts announced that the Iraqi army and popular forces will take full control of Anbar province in the coming weeks.

The Iraqi army and popular forces have made considerable advances in Al-Anbar province, Western Iraq, an indication that the ISIL will be fullydefeated in the next few weeks,” Iraqi security expert Saeed al-Jayashi.

In late July, the Iraqi volunteer forces and army managed to seize back several strategic regions in the city of Ramadi, including Al-Anbar University, from Takfiri terrorists’ control.

Iraq’s counter-terrorism units announced that the Iraqi flags have been hoisted now over Al-Anbar University’s buildings.

Tens of ISIL terrorists have been killed and dozens more injured in heavy clashes with Iraqi troops.

Meantime, the Iraqi army and the volunteer forces won back control over strategic hilltops in the Eastern parts of the city of al-Ramadi.
