Al-Moallem: All Who Carry Weapon against the State Are Terrorists

TEHRAN, (ST)-“In Syria there is no mederate or immoderate opposition…all who carry weapons against the Syrian state are terrorists,” Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moalllem told journalists in Tehran on Wednesdat in reply to a question on the United States’ announcement that it will provide air protection for what it called moderate opposition.

Al-Moallem said “the U.S contacted us before the group of the so-called “moderate opposition” was allowed access to Syria and said that this group aims to fight ISIS not the Syrian Army, and our response was that we back all efforts aiming to fight ISIS in coordination and consultation with the Syrian government otherwise it wil be a violation of the Syrian sovereignty.”

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif stressed during his meeting with al-Moallem in Tehran on Wednesday that Iran will firmly continue its support for Syria in fighting terrorim.
