Mikdad, South African Deputy Minister of International Relations discuss cooperation

 

PRETORIA – Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad and South Africa’s Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Nomaindia Mfeketo discussed cooperation and developing bilateral cooperation, particularly in politics, economy, and counterterrorism.

During her meeting with Mikdad, who is currently visiting South Africa, Mfeketo asserted her government’s support for the Syrian government’s efforts to combat terrorism, asserting that South Africa rejects foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs and the policies of “changing regimes”, SANA reported.

 She also reiterated her government’s condemnation of terrorism and the need to refrain from providing any support to terrorist organizations, expressing admiration of the Syrian people and leadership for standing in the face of terrorism and voicing her government’s readiness to provide support for reconstruction in Syria.

For his part, Mikdad briefed Mfeketo on the terrorism targeting Syria, expressing appreciation for South Africa’s positions and its support for Syria, welcoming the idea of South Africa having an active participation in reconstruction.
