The United States has waged war on humanity and has become the greatest threat to world peace and humanity’s survival, an author and radio host in Chicago says.
Stephen Lendman told Press TV on Sunday that the United States is a dirty, corrupted system that has waged “endless wars against countries threatening no one, risking more wars, raping and pillaging them, exploiting their people, stealing their resources, and forcing police state laws at home, supporting corporate powers exclusively at the expense of social justice in America.”
“America is a sham democracy, but it’s a lot worse than that, because it’s literally waging war on humanity. And if it ever erupts into a direct confrontation with another nuclear power like Russia, it could be curtains for all of us,” he added.
“That’s the great danger. America is the greatest threat that to world peace and humanity’s survival,” he stated.
Former US President Jimmy Carter said in an interview on Tuesday that the United States has become an “oligarchy” in which “unlimited political bribery” has created “a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors.”
He added that both Democrats and Republicans “look upon this unlimited money as a great benefit to themselves.”
“Jimmy Carter is certainly America’s best ex president,” Lendman said.
“Jimmy Carter calls America rightfully ‘an oligarchy with unlimited political bribery.’ There’s no question [about this]. I have written about it so many times. I’d love to discuss this with him face to face,” he stated.
“America is a money-driven system. It’s ruled by duopoly power. There are two political powers in America – that’s one with two wings. So it’s duopoly power,” he noted.
“The big moneyed interests, the Wall Street banks, the giant corporations, they give campaigners bid contributions. These are investments. They are not contributions, they are investments,” the political commentator pointed out.
“You give a candidate a million dollar, you want to get back maybe a hundred million in return, maybe a billion. And that’s the way the US system works.”
