The Impregnable Fortress
DAMASCUS, (ST)- ‘Guardian of the Homeland, today you are pursuing the process of sacrifice and giving, which you have started for more than four years as the impregnable fortress protecting the borders of Syria and preserving its pride and dignity,’ said H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad.
In a word to the Syrian Arab Army on its 70th Foundation Day Anniversary, the General Commander of the Army and Armed Forces, Lieutenant General, Bashar Al-Assad added that the ‘challenges imposed by the terrorist aggression against Syria were immense; the Syria Army, however, has been and is still up to the challenge: ever present powerfully in every encounter with the enemy, providing the best example for heroism, sacrifices and consequent lessons in bravery, belonging and loyalty to the Homeland,’
‘We have had in scores of your battles in many places living examples of your great steadfastness and your honourable work and resistant unbreakable and invincible will, which everyday gets more solid and powerful as to increase your presence, activity and to continue encountering the machine of terrorism and killing and foil the sinister schemes of aggression,’ underscored President Al-Assad in a written word to the Syrian Soldier Magazine ‘al-Joundi Al-Arabi’.
‘Because you have represented the leading example in defending Syria, protecting the dignity of the proud Syrians, the Syrians rallied around you and stood united by you repelling the aggression,’ outlined H.E. President Al-Assad.
H.E. President Al-Assad outlined the ‘Syrians pride in their Army and defence of their civilization, heritage, human history and of their right to self-destiny and their own planned and made future, paying no heed to the campaigns of sedition and misleading, which were foiled by the Syrians steadfastness and deep belonging to Syria, the homeland of the dignified and resistant.’
‘The history of our hero Army is full of the pages of honourable struggle, and of the battles of heroism and manhood in defence of the Homeland as well as of the Nation dignity. And today your bravery, heroism and sacrifices recall back to memory the image of those national epics, made by our Army throughout its history, proving that you are up to the trust in you.’ Added President Al-Assad.
‘You merit the victory, because you belong the academy of honour, bravery, steadfastness and resistance, the Syrian Arab Army Academy,’ President Al-Assad addressed the Syrian Army, lauding highly the sacrifices of the Army and its determination to pursue the fight till restoring security and peace to every dear span of the soil of our beloved Syria.
H.E. President Al-Assad appreciated the Martyrs of Syria our light on the way of sacrifice and victory, wounded and their families, and the resistant Syrians, in embodiment of belonging, hope and in defence and protection of the homeland, Syria.
