Al-Jaafari: Fighting Terrorism Syria’s Top Priority
NEW YORK, (ST) – The Syrian government supports all efforts aiming to solve the crisis in Syria, Syria’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Bashar Al-Jaafari has stressed.
In a press statement at the UN Headquarters following the Security Council Session yesterday, al-Jaafari said “fighting terrorism is Syria’s top priority.”
“We have told the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura that fighting terrorism is a necessity and a priority for Syria,” al-Jaafari said, pointing out that without dealing with terrorism in a proper way all other tracks won’t be important.
Al-Jaafari affirmed that Syria seeks attaining peaceful settlement, putting an end to the terrorists’ flow towards Syria across the Turkish-Syrian borders and pressuring Israel to stop its support for the terrorists in Golan front.
