collective regional and international efforts needed to eradicate terrorism
DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad received here today Mr. Falih Al-Fayadh, the Iraqi National Security Advisor and envoy of the Iraqi Premier.
Talks during the meeting asserted that the all-out elimination of terrorism requires collective regional and international efforts, based on constructive cooperation and on respect for states’ sovereignty and the interests of their people.
The critical conditions in the region in light of the escalation of terrorist war, particularly in Syria and Iraq, were focused at with assertion laid on the importance of maintaining and bolstering the standing cooperation and coordination between Syria and Iraq in confronting the Takfiri terrorist organizations which are perpetrating atrocious and heinous crimes and massacres against Syrians and Iraqis.
Syrians and Iraqis are waging the same battle against terrorism and its supporters, and are determined to continue the fight against terrorist organizations until both Syria and Iraq are freed from terrorists.
Whatever progress or achievement in confronting terrorism in one country is reciprocal, as terrorism knows no homeland or religion, cannot be hindered by borders, indiscriminately striking at all.
On September 23, 2014, H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad reiterated Tuesday that Syria would decisively pursue the war it has been waging for years against the Takfiri terrorism in all of its forms.
Receiving the Iraqi National Security Advisor and envoy of the Iraqi Premier, Falih Al-Fayadh, H.E. President Al-Assad asserted that Syria supports any international efforts against terrorism, pointing out that the success of such efforts doesn’t depend only on military action, but also on the commitment to related UNSC resolutions and their pending stipulations regarding the halting of whatever support to terrorist organizations.
Assertion was laid during the meeting on the continued cooperation and coordination between the leaderships of Syria and Iraq as to eradicate the plague of terrorism, given the fact that such cooperation and coordination yielded positive results for the people in Syria, Iraq, as well as in the region.
Mr. Al-Fayadh briefed H.E. President Al-Assad on the latest measures taken and the would be taken as to combat terrorism.
H.E. President Al-Assad reiterated that the fight against terrorism starts with exerting pressure on the countries which support and finance terrorist organizations and claim at the same time to be now fighting terrorism.
Receiving Al-Fayadh on September 16th, 2014, H.E. President Al-Assad voiced relief over the standing cooperation with Iraqi leaderships in encountering the terrorist organizations, which resulted in positive outcomes for both countries and the region.
Mr. Al-Fayadh briefed H.E. President Al-Assad on the latest developments in Iraq and the efforts exerted by the government and people of Iraq to encounter terrorists.
Assertion was laid on the importance of the bolstering of coordination and cooperation between Syria and Iraq as to fight terrorism threatening both countries, the region as well as the entire globe.
