Terrorists fire 5 shells on Damascus, detonate explosive device in Qameshli

PROVINCES,(ST)_Terrorist organizations fired mortar shells on Damascus and detonated an explosive device attached to a motorcycle in Qameshli city, killing at least one person and wounding over 17 others, the official news agency (SANA) reported today.

The agency quoted a police command source as saying that terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Jaish al-Islam’ fired mortar shells on al-Zablatani area in Damascus, killing one person and wounding 13 others.

The source added that a 4th mortar shell hit the outskirts of the ‘Sheraton’ Hotel, wounding a cleaner.

While the 5th mortar shell that fell in Bab Touma quarter left material damage to a home without casualties, according to the source.

Separately, SANA reported that Journalist Thaer al-Ajlani was martyred today morning as he was covering army units’ operations in the eastern edge of Jobar quarter near Damascus.

The late Thaer al-Ajlani was working a reporter for Sham FM radio.

On July 6, terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front and the ‘Jaish al-Islam’ fired mortar shells from Jobar quarter and the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus on al-Amara quarter in Damascus, killing a child and wounding 4 others.

Another terror attack took place today in Qameshli city where terrorists detonated an explosive device attached to a motorcycle parked near al-Bayabn’ School, wounding at least 3 persons.  

More 5 persons were wounded as a terrorist driving a motorcycle blew himself up in Alaya quarter in the same city [Qameshli], which lies 80 km north of Hasaka.
