The media have been the most dangerous weapon during the wars on Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen. And the best evidence of this is that the fall of Iraq and Libya has been declared via media outlets before it happened at military level.
Another evidence is that the western and Arab media have shown terrorists in Syria as ”revolutionaries” and ”freedom-fighters” and ‘armed moderate opposition’ in order to deceive the world public opinion.
The western media outlets have kept tight-lipped about the fact that what the Takfiri gangs, including ISIS and al-Nusra Front, are practicing in the Arab world is similar to what the Zionist entity [Israel] has done in Palestine over the past 60 years.
This fact was disclosed by Presidential Political and Media Advisor Dr. Bouthaina Sha’aban during the second session of the International media conference held yesterday on the role of the media in the current wars.
She made it clear that the US is the main source of more than 90% of world media, while 80% of the Arab media is funded by the Saudi regime.
“We understand the dangerous role of the media in changing the Arab world and its identity and civilization. The 2015 US National Security strategy aims at restructuring world countries to be similar to the US,” Dr. Shaaban said.
She underscored that the Takfiri terrorism that hit the region is the final attempt by the west to impose its control over the region.
“The fierce terrorist attack on the region aims at making a radical change in it,” she asserted, indicating that the support of friendly countries’ media would help form a new strategic thinking that suit the new world and it would lead to the flow of real information.
“We must take serious steps to penetrate the world media, and there must be a news agency to explain the reality of event in the region from our view point,” the Presidential advisor said.
On her part, Member of the National Committee for defending Syria and resistance policy MP. Myassar Serdeyeh said that media have become a mean to create events that serve the US-Zionist project through transferring the real conflict from Arab-Zionist conflict to Arab-Arab conflict and Arab-Islamic conflict and Islamic-Islamic conflict.
Erdemol : Syria is victim of terrorism
On the sidelines of the Conference, The Syriatimes e-newspaper conducted interviews with some participants to talk about the importance of the 2-day conference and the role of the media in the current wars.
Mustafa Kemal Erdemol, a Turkish reporter, who is visiting Syria for the fourth time, told us that the conference is very important because Syria is victim of terrorism.
“Terrorism is not only Syria’s problem, it is a global problem. That is why many countries came here,” he added, stressing that it is so difficult to form a media front now because the global media support terrorists and it is against Syria.
Erdoğan is sectarian
“The European countries support terrorists and they practice double standard policies in dealing with terrorism issue,” the Turkish reporter said, pointing out that there is a problem in the Syrian-Turkish border and there is a problem in the Turkish policy towards Syria.
“I expect a change in the Turkish policy towards Syria, but I do not know when it will happen exactly, may be next week, may be next month. Actually, ‘Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is sectarian and fanatic. No one understands what is the problem of Erdogan with the Syrian people. He is crazy,” Erdemol said.
He described the morale of Syrian people as high, adding that the Syrian army is strong.
Abo Zakareyya: visions must be translated into acts
The Algerian intellectual Yehia Abo Zakareyya told us that the conference aims to reach a unified media system to confront the Takfiri terrorism.
“Undoubtedly, we will achieve victory at military and diplomatic levels, but the most important thing is to achieve victory at mentality level. There must be coordination between all Arab countries that are serious in counter-terrorism. Visions and ideas must be translated into acts, programs and laws,” he clarified.
Lamb: Syrian people, civilization have strong points
The US professor of International Law Dr. Franklin P. Lamb suggested to focus on how the Syrian people goes ahead with their normal life despite the sanctions imposed on it.
“Syrian people and civilization have strong points which must be invested in the media,” he added.
Yesterday, the International Media Conference on Counter terrorism started its activities with the participation of over 130 media figures from Syria, Russia, China, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Algeria, Morocco, Bahrain, Jordan, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Cyprus, Britain, Germany, and Kuwait.
