EEC to Consider the Establishment of a Free Trade Zone with Syria

Moscow, (ST)- Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) confirmed that it is considering positively towards the establishment of a free trade zone with Syria, noting that it plans to start negotiations on the establishment of the zone after the stability of the political situation in Syria.

The Novosti news agency quoted Russian representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission as saying that all members of the Economic Federation expressed their positive attitude towards the establishment of a free trade zone with Syria.

 

It is noteworthy that the Eurasian Economic is an organization comprising Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The organization was established in January 2015 on the basis of the customs union between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
