Syrian army advances in Zabadani area, clashes with terrorists in Hasaka and Aleppo

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has killed over 20 terrorists in Zabadani city in Damascus countryside and has intensified operations against ISIS terrorists in Hasaka province.

According to a military source, army units and the Lebanese resistance killed more than 20 terrorists during a qualitative operation carried out today morning in Zabadani city, around 45km north-west of Damascus.

The terrorists were trying to flee the city of Zabadani, the source told the official news agency (SANA), clarifying that they were belonging to the al-Nusra Front [al-Qaeda’s branch in the Levant] and the so-called the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ Movement that receive money from the Saudi regime.

Fresh advance in Zabadani

The Syrian TV channel reported later on that army units and the Lebanese resistance recaptured Darb al-Sham area and Beqqin hill in al-Zabadani city and expanded their control in Zabadani plain after they killed many terrorists there.

Yesterday, army units and the Lebanese resistance killed over 40 terrorists in an ambush in the same city.

Further terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front and the ISIS were killed when army units struck terrorist hideouts in towns of al-Hwash, Atshan, Aqrab, Eqirbat and al-Rahjan and on the outskirts of Kherbet al-Naqous in Hama countryside.

A military source declared that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups killed many of ISIS terrorists and destroyed several vehicles belonging to them in an area located east of al-Mofakker town a day after warplanes pounded terrorist hideouts in the town outside Salameyeh in Hama countryside.

Terrorist organizations announced through social media that 4 of their members were killed and 10 others wounded in the province of Hama.

In the northern countryside of Lattakia, Syrian warplanes bombed hideouts of al-Nusra Front and allied terrorist organizations in Kabbani and Jeb al-Ahmar towns and in Tal al-Rashwan.

The airstrikes resulted in the death of many terrorists and the destruction of big quantity of weapons, SANA said, indicating that there were airstrikes against the ‘Jaish al-Fateh’ terrorists in Idlib countryside.  

Last night, an army unit foiled a terrorist group’s infiltration bid into Dwerin town in the northern countryside of Lattakia and killed most of the group’s members including leader of the so-called the al-Quds battalion, dubbed Abo Omar.

30 vehicles destroyed

Moving towards the south of the country, army units destroyed vehicles and hideouts belonging to al-Nusra Front, the ‘al-Mothanna’ movement, the brigade of unifying the south, the ‘Mojahidi Horan’ battalions and the Madfaeyyet Sejjil’ battalions in Kafer Shames, al-Naemeh town and in Daraa al-Balad in Daraa province.

30 vehicles belonging to terrorists were destroyed and scores of terrorists were killed today at noon in Em batneh town, around 6 km east of Quneitra city, according to a military source.

Other vehicles and hideouts belonging to ISIS terrorists were destroyed in and outside Palmyra and in the eastern countryside of Homs during airstrikes.

Clashes with ISIS terrorists

The airstrikes synchronized with clashes erupted between army units and ISIS terrorists holed up in buildings in the southeastern edge of Ghweran quarter in Hasaka city.

Add to that, army units and national forces clashed with ISIS terrorists on the outskirts of the western al-Nashweh quarter and al-Nashweh villat quarter in the same city.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the clashes.

Infiltration bid in Aleppo

Other clashes erupted between an army unit and al-Nusra Front terrorists, who tried to infiltrate from al-Khabeyeh market into al-Sweqa area in Aleppo city, which witnessed military operations against terrorist organizations in quarters of Bani Zied, al-Rashidin 4, al-Sekkari, Bab al-Nairab, al-Salehin, al-Jazmati square and al-Layramon factories.
