“The support offered by Russia, as leadership and people, to Syria is appreciated by the Syrian people, particularly as the Russian aid offered to the Syrian citizens has helped, to a great deal, back efforts exerted by the Syrian government to meet demands of the people affected by acts of terrorism, al-Halqi told Russian Sputnik news agency in an interview.

He highly lauded the efforts exerted by Russia to provide political support to the Syrian government during the crisis, referring to the Russian government’s endeavors to raise the level of economic ties with Syria.

In a relevant context, al-Halqi said that the deal of the Iranian nuclear program is a step which will launch Iranian promising investments in Syria after releasing the frozen assets.

Syria and Iran are linked by an economic cooperation agreement which was crowned by two credit lines, the first amounts 1 billion USD to buy nutritional goods and the second amounts 3.6 billion USD to support Syria in oil.
