Syrian army recaptures areas from ISIS in Hasaka and Palmyra countryside

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has made progress on the outskirts of Palmyra and in Hasaka city and has foiled terrorist organizations’ attacks on military posts in Daraa, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency reported today that army units recaptured several points and sites west of Palmyra city in parallel with airstrikes against ISIS terrorist in different areas in the eastern countryside of Homs.

It quoted a military source as saying that army unit fully controlled Nazl Hial, al-Qaderi farm and Thaneyet al-Rajmeh areas west of Palmyra city in the wake of intensified operations against ISIS terrorists there.

35 ISIS terrorists killed

“Well over 35 ISIS terrorists were killed and 90 others injured in the operations during which ISIS ringleaders’ hideouts and scores of vehicles that was trying to reach the areas were destroyed,” the source added.

It indicated that Syrian warplanes bombed ISIS hideouts on the outskirts of Qasr al-Hir and Plamyra city, killing many terrorists.

There were also other airstrikes against the Jaish al-Fateh terrorists’ sites in Bashlamon, al-Bashereyeh towns and in Jisr Esh Shugur city in Idlib countryside as well as against ISIS terrorists in al-Aresheh town and al-Shdadi city in the southern countryside of Hasaka where many terrorists were killed and injured.

The airstrikes coincided with the recapture of al-Layleh quarter in Hasaka city by army units in cooperation with internal security forces and popular defense groups.

In another development, army units repelled terrorist groups’ attacks on military posts on the outskirts of Justice Palace, station and education buildings in Daraa city and destroyed several vehicles belonging to the al-Nusra Front and the ‘Ahrar al-Sham Movement’ in towns of Atshan, al-Hwejeh and al-Latamneh in the northern Hama countryside.

More vehicles belong to the same terrorist front were destroyed in al-Mansoura town and on the outskirts of the scientific research building in Aleppo province.

27 persons released

Separately, SANA reported that the competent authorities and popular defense groups has released 27 persons held by al-Nusra Front in Ishtabraq town in the southwestern countryside of Idlib.
