Syrian army, Lebanese resistance make swift progress in Zabadani battle

PROVINCES,(ST)- Syrian army has recaptured two quarters in Zabadani city outside Damascus and has killed scores of al-Nusra Front and ISIS terrorists in the countrysides of Sweida, Homs, Daraa, Quneitra and Aleppo.

A military source declared today that army units and the Lebanese resistance recaptured quarter of al-Jam’eyyat west of al-Zabadani city and quarter of al-Seltaneh east of the city.

It confirmed that Syrian army units are pressing ahead with military operations in al-Zabadani city and hit many terrorists.

Earlier today, the official news agency (SANA) reported that Syrian warplanes destroyed an armored car and a Pick-UP car equipped with machine guns in al-Zabadani.

The successful military operations in Zabadani city coincided with targeting terrorist hideouts in the northwestern countryside of Daraa and in the northern countryside of Quneirtra as well as in the eastern and northern countrysides of Homs.

Many terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front and  ISIS were killed and injured there.

Further terrorists affiliated to ISIS were mowed down in clashes with army units.

“An army unit clashed with ISIS terrorists, who tried to attack Tal Bothaina from Tal Sa’da in the northeastern countryside of Sweida,” a  military source said.

7 terrorists captured

Moving towards the north of the country, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel said that Syrian army captured 7 gunmen inside a building in Jame’yyet al-Zahraa quarter, north-west of Aleppo a day after it killed 25 gunmen in an ambush in the same area.

It added that Syrian army regained control of the eastern al-Nashweh quarter and most of al-Leleyeh quarter’ parts south of Hasaka city.
