TEHRAN, (ST)- Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has called for cooperation and unified efforts to uproot terrorism and violence from the region and the entire world.
Rouhani’s remarks came in a message of condolences he sent to Emir Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah of Kuwait in which he condemned Friday’s terrorist attack which targeted worshippers in “Imam al-Sadq” mosque in the Kuwaiti capital and claimed the lives of scores of people.
The Iranian President hoped that the region will witness the spread of security, peace and tranquility under the teachings of Islam.
“By committing such a crime, particlularly in a mosque and in the holy month of Ramadan, aims to distort Islam’s reputation and image, present false and violent image about Moslems and feed sedition among the Moslems make them fight each others,” Rouhani said.
The terrorist attack carried out by the terrorist organization calling itself “Islamic State” (ISIS) claimed the lives of 27 people, including three Iranians, and wounded 227 other worshippers.
