PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has controlled one of the terrorist organizations’ positions in the northwestern countryside of Daraa and has struck terrorist organizations in countrysides of Homs, Hama, Lattakia, Aleppo, Idlib, Hasaka and Daraa.
According to a military source, an army unit controlled one of the terrorist organizations’ positions north of al-Bitar farm in the northwestern countryside of Daraa after airstrikes against terrorist organizations there.
Israeli-made weapons and munitions were found in the position, the source said, adding that Syrian warplanes bombed al-Nusra Front hideouts in Ibta’a and Tafas towns in the northeastern countryside of Daraa where several arms caches were destroyed and many terrorists were killed and injured.
The source indicated that army units killed a terrorist group’s members, who tried to infiltrate into a military post in Alma town, and destroyed 4 armored cars belonging to them.
Earlier today, the official news agency (SANA) reported that army units targeted hideouts of al-Nusra Front and allied groups in the northern and northwestern countryside of the same province [Daraa].
2500 terrorists divided into 33 groups
The Syrian TV channel said that army units foiled terrorist groups’ infiltration bids from Daraa al-Balad into al-Mansheyeh quarter.
In this context, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel said that Syrian army foiled the ‘south storm’ operation that was launched by terrorist organizations linked to the Military Operations Center in Amman.
The operation aimed at foiling Daraa city to the terrorist organizations, but Syrian army warded off terrorists” attacks on military posts in and outside the city from 5 axes.
The terrorist organizations were inflicted heavy losses in the confrontations in which 2.500 terrorists were divided into 33 armed groups to infiltrate into the city of Daraa, al-Mayadden said.
It pointed out the operation synchronized with rumors circulated by some media outlets about the results of the battles in Daraa.
Back to today’s military operations nationwide, SANA said that army units carried out qualitative operation against terrorist organizations in al-Hereyeh and al-Hamedeyeh towns, about 7km west of Quneitra city.
Many terrorists were killed and injured I the operation.
Further terrorists affiliated to the ISIS, also known as ISIL or IS, were eliminated in airstrikes in the southern and southeastern countryside of Hasaka.
There were also strikes against terrorist hideouts in the northern countryside of Homs and in several areas in the countrysides of Idlib, Hama, Lattakia and Aleppo.
A military source declared that a depot containing rockets was destroyed in al-Qasab area in the northern countryside of Lattakia.
Hideouts of the so-called the ‘Ahrar al-Sham Movement’ and the ’10th brigade’ were pounded in Salma town in the same province.
