US Blacklists So-called Syrian “Opposition Coalition”

RIYADH, (ST)-US government has blacklisted the names of the so-called Syrian Opposition Coalition’s members alongside the names of other opposition groups in the country’s blacklist on terrorism-related charges, a Coalition source said.

About 80% of the opposition coalition members belong to the terrorist “Moslem Brotherhood” organization which is known of its terrorist bloody history in Syria, Egypt and Yemen.

The Saudi “Elaf” news website commented on the US procedures by saying that “members of the coalition and many other opposition figures feel shocked by the US decision to issue a long list of coalition members’ names who are not allowed to enter US lands because they are blacklisted over involvement in terrorism activities.

Accroding to the website, the US move aims not to fight terrorism outside the United States, but it is dedicated to preserve US internal security, as Washington believes that members of the so-called Syrian “opposition coalition” and other Syrian opposition figures aborad are possible terrorists who may pose a serious threat to the American security, so they are not allowed to enter the American territories except through exceptional measures and under strict control.

Some members of the coalition told the Saudi website that they were shocked when they asked for a visa to enter the United States and found that they were classified as “non-allowed” because of their participation in terrorist actvities or because they may take part in such actvities after entering the country.

The Coalition members said that US’s decision was “incomprehensible” to them.
