NEW YORK, (ST)-The Syrian Government is ready to respond positively to every effort aiming to give the process of inter-Syrian peaceful political solution a push forward, Syria’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Bashar Al-Jaafari told al-Manar TV yesterday night.
“The success of the Moscow2 Inter-Syrian meeting has provoked Syria’s enemies who started to think of non-consensual tracks for a solution, so in order to make success of his efforts, the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura has to build on Moscow2 document which was presented to the Security Council member countries as an official document issued by the United Nations, and on the results of the consultatiuons he held in Damascus and Geneva to pave the way for launching Geneva III conference,” al-Jaafari said.
He added that De Mistura should carry on his consultations and presure Syria’s neighboring countries to stop terrorism escalation.
According to al-Jaafari, “it is not possible to go to Geneva III and crown the process of peaceful dialogue with a Syrian-Syrian understanding as long as there are certain countires and governments which keep ignoring the Security Council resolutions, continue to interfer in Syria’s affairs and don’t close the training camps they have built in Turkey, Qatar, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to train terrorists.”
Regarding the role played by of the US-led international coalition against ISIS, al-Jaafari said the American administration fights Syria and Iraq through ISIS.
“If the US had wanted to fight ISIS, the American planes would have bombarded 2300 US-made military cars owned by ISIS and moved from the Iraqi al-Ramadi city to the Syrian city of Palmyra over 6 hours,” al-Jaafari clarified, noting to the US Vice-President Joe Biden’s statement saying that 70% of the US air raids in Syria and Iraq don’t strike ISIS.
He pointed out that “this is an intelligence bloody game played at the expense of the Syrian, Iraqi and other Arab peoples.
