Al-Moallem Stresses Syria’s Support for de Mistura’s Efforts to Find Political Solution to Crisis in Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem has stressed Syria’s support for the efforts being exerted by UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura to attain a political solution to the crisis in the country.

During his meeting in Damascus on Monday with de Mistura and the accompanying delegation, al-Moallem asserted the important results of the inter-Syrian talks held within Moscow consultative meetings and affirmed the need to continue such talks as to guarantee the success of the coming Geneva III meeting.

De Mistura briefed al-Moallem on the consultations he has recently made in Geneva with the purpose of finding a political settlement in Syria.
