Syrian army pounds terrorist ringleaders hideouts, kills large numbers of terrorists in airstrikes

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian warplanes have bombed terrorist organizations’ sites in Idlib and in the eastern countryside of Damascus as well as in Homs countryside, military sources said Monday.

A military source was quoted on the official news agency (SANA) as citing that several terrorist ringleaders’ hideouts and dozens of vehicles were destroyed during airstrikes staged by Syrian warplanes in more than 17 areas in Idlib countryside.

It added that large numbers of terrorists were killed during the airstrikes that targeted terrorist groupings in  al-Insha’at, al-Ter’aa, Em Jrin, Em Mrir, al-Bwiti, Talab, al-Mjaf, Mearata, al-Marj, Bzit, Balshon, Shagourit, the peak of prophet Ayyoup, al-Bshereyeh, Ariha, Ein al-Hamra and al-Lej areas.

Other airstrikes were carried out by Syrian warplanes against terrorist groupings in Jbab al-Tanahej, Salam Gharbi and al-Shendakheyeh towns in Homs countryside as well as in Bear al-Manqoura na d Ksaret Baher in the eastern countryside of Damascus.

Many terrorist were killed and injured in the airstrikes, according to SANA.

The airstrikes coincided with continuity of military operations against terrorist organizations in the southwestern countryside of Damascus and in several areas in Daraa and Quneitra countryside where many terrorists, mostly affiliated to the al-Nusra Front, were killed.

287 square kilometer of Qalamoun liberated

In another development, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel reported that Syrian army and Lebanese resistance liberated 287 square kilometer of Qalamoun including 50 square kilometers of Flita barrens

It added that Syrian army and the Lebanese resistance regained control over al-Hamra crossing, which links between Flita barrens and Arsal barrens.

The fresh progress was followed by an advance made by the Lebanese resistance towards the east edge of Arsal barrens and the recapture of al-Turkman and al-Qusair valleys.
