Araqchi Elaborates on Text, Appendixes ofFinal Agreement

 

Vienna –Top member of Iranian nuclear negotiating team Seyyed Abbas Araqchisaid on Sunday that if a final agreement will be signed it will probably have five appendixes, IRNA reported.

One of the appendixes will be on the sanctions and all the details related to them, the laws that will be annulled and the negative effects of those laws in practice, which will all be included in that appendix,’ said Araqchi before leaving Vienna.

He said that another appendix will be on technical discussions and various dimensions of the nuclear issue, the adopted decisions and the achieved solutions in Lausanne and how to implement them in practice.

 Another appendix will be on peaceful nuclear cooperation with Iran and in which fields the other countries can have nuclear cooperation with us. It will focus on light water power reactors, research reactors, nuclear water desalination, research and development, nuclear heating and the entire issues related to peaceful used of nuclear energy,’ he said.

Araqchi said that another appendix will be on the establishment of a Joint Commission, the regulations for its functioning, and the mechanisms for surveying the issues in all agreed fields. It will also focus on the acts that the two sides must make in certain time schedules.

He said that the final product of the negotiations will be a very detailed document in more than 20 pages of the main text and some 40 t0 50 pages of appendixes.

Every single world in that text can be debated and in some cases there are differences of opinion and controversies,’ he emphasized.

Araqchi said that various parts of that text and its appendixes are still in parentheses, the job processes, but really slowly and very gradually.

 

Iran, world powers can strike a deal by July 1 – Larijani

In the same context in Tehran, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in a meeting with Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs ElmarBrok in Tehran on Saturday underlined that striking a final deal between Iran and the world powers is achievable.

 ‘We can strike a final agreement by adopting a logical outlook, avoiding excessive demands and new issues when drafting the text,’ Larijani said during the meeting.

Larijani, meantime, called for the further cooperation between Iran and European countries.

Iran-Europe economic cooperation serves the interests of both sides and consultations and talks between the Iranian and European parliamentarians can facilitate trade and economic exchanges… ,’ Larijani said.

Brok, for his part, underlined the willingness of the European countries and businessmen to broaden their cooperation with Iran, and said, ‘Given the economic power and vast capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, there are many suitable grounds for strengthening mutual trade cooperation and European countries need trade with Iran in a bid to increase their trade corridors.’

He also pointed to Iran-G5+1 nuclear talks, and said, ‘I hope that the two sides strike a final deal before the (July 1) deadline in order to see a boost in the level of friendly relations through the removal of the sanctions (imposed against Iran(‘.

A European Parliament delegation is in Iran on an official two-day visit to hold talks with the country’s authorities.

The eight-strong delegation, headed by Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, arrived in Tehran early Saturday.

 

Experts differ on discussions to edit agreement text, says Baidinejad

Meanwhile, Director General for Political Affairs at the Foreign Ministry and nuclear negotiator Hamid Baidinejad described the pace of the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the six world powers in third day of talks as slow.

At the end of the third day of negotiations and end of meeting of the deputy foreign ministers of the seven countries that lasted until 11:30 p.m., the deputy foreign ministers left Vienna this morning, but it was decided that the expert talks would continue,” Baidinejad wrote on his Instagram page on Saturday.

 

He noted that accordingly two expert meetings were held today (one in the morning and the second one in the afternoon) on the nuclear issues and the issues related to the sanctions and important discussion were held on the possibility of further editing the texts.

Baidinejad said that the negotiators have made progress writing the texts in a slow pace, but in this round of talks the main text and the technical annexes on nuclear issues and sanctions were furthermore completed.
