Syrian army retakes more hills in Qalamoun area, kills ISIS terrorists in Palmyra and Aleppo
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has recaptured more hills in Qalamoun area outside Damascus and has killed many ISIS terrorists in Palmyra and Aleppo, the official news agency (SANA) reported Wednesday.
The agency quoted a military source as saying that army units in cooperation with the Lebanese resistance and the popular defense groups regained control over Jabal Shmeset al-Hsan, Qernet al-Tawel, Qernet al-Mesh and Oqbet al-Fasekh in Flita barrens.
Today’s achievement comes a week after recapturing the strategic Mosa hill from terrorist organizations, which have been inflicted heavy losses over the past two days.
Many terrorists, including one of al-Nusra Front ringleaders, his name Abo Omar al-Taftanazi, were killed in areas located on Syrian-Lebanese border.
Lebanese forces and Gulf regimes finance and arm the terrorist organizations operating Qalamoun area and in towns located on Syrian-Lebanese border.
Moving towards the north of the country, army units killed many terrorists affiliated to the ISIS [it is Arabic acronym is Daesh] on the outskirts of the Air Forces Academy in Aleppo countryside and destroyed a tunnel-used by terrorist organization- in the old city of Aleppo, a military source said.
It added that army units carried out fresh concentrated operations on terrorist outposts in quarters of al-Zebdeyeh, al-Sekkari, Bab al-Nairab ans al-Mash’had in the city of Aleppo as well as in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Many terrorists were killed and injured in the operations.
Attacks on military posts
Further ISIS terrorists were eliminated as army units warded attacks on the 3rd station for conveying oil and on military post on the outskirts of jazel field in Palmyra countryside, according to SANA.
The agency indicated that popular defense groups withrew from Palmyra city after evacuating most of the people.
Large numbers of ISIS terrorists entered the city of Palmyra from the northern edge after fierce fighting.
In another development, Syrian warplanes destroyed an arms cache and mortar emplacements belonging to terrorist organizations in Tal Msibin, al-Qermid camp, al-Tibat and Ein al-Soda in Idlib countryside.
Two cars equipped with heavy machineguns and a mortar emplacement were also destroyed on the outskirts of the Sugar Plant in Jisr Esh Shugur countryside in the same province [Idlib].
