Some 42 Companies Take Part in the 2nd Exhibition for Reconstruction

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Activities of the second exhibition for the reconstruction of Syria started on Monday at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus. The event was organized by the Syrian International Marketing Association (SIMA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works and the support of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce. The exhibition was entitled “The Syrians are building Syria”. Some 42 national and foreign companies operating in the field of reconstruction and services and a number of embassies accredited in Damascus are taking part in the exhibition.

The Minister of Public Works Eng. Hussein Arnous confirmed the importance of the exhibition in briefing the other companies on the opportunities of investment in Syria, highlighting the efforts exerted by the organizing company and the notable development in the number of participating companies in the current session compared to the previous session, which was held late last year.

The Minister clarified that the exhibition is a step in the right direction to prepare for the reconstruction process in Syria, pointing out to the contents of the exhibition including special construction techniques and modern equipment.

He noted the prominent attendance of many foreign and international companies in this exhibition; that is an evidence of their willingness to contribute to the reconstruction process, saying: “All those who stand by  Syria in this crisis will be a key partner in the reconstruction process which will be very close.”

The Minister of Public Works pointed out that “the Ministry of Works is ready to enter strongly in the reconstruction process after drawing up several plans and programs in accordance with the priorities and practical possibilities.”

The Director General of SIMA confirmed that the participation of “many foreign companies from Austria, China and South Korea as well as national companies in the new session of the exhibition meets the requirements of reconstruction and attracting modern techniques from around the world for shaping the features of the next stage strategy.”
