Delegation of Syrian Expatriates in Sweden Visits Army Wounded Personnel

DAMASCUS, (ST)-In recognition of the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army in defense of the homeland’s dignity, a delegation representing the Syrian community in Sweden yesterday visited a number of Syrian Army wounded personnel at the Yousef al-Azmeh Hospital in Damascus.

The delegation comprised several Syrian expatriates and two Swedish journalists.

Head of the delegation, Sabri Ayoub, said “our visit to Syria aims to voice solidarity and loyalty with our motherland, Syria, which is facing a heinous war waged by international imperialism and funded by some Arab regimes serving the Israeli scheme to further fragment the region.”

He stressed Syrian community’s support for the Syrian army’s efforts to protect the country and defend it against terrorism.

Members of the delegation and Head of the Syrian-Swedish Peace Society Baheej Bahko said that members of the delegation have a media mission aiming to explain and convey the real image of what is going on in Syria to the western media and public opinion, especially because the delegation comprises two Swedish journalists.

Bahko urged the Syrian communities all over the world to play an effective media role in the countries where they live and to explain and correct the distorted image about the events in Syria.

The two journalists accompanying the delegation expressed their readiness to help convey the real image of Syria events to the western public opinion and to the media outlets they are working in.

On their part, the Army wounded personnel thanked the honest Syrian expatriates and hailed their important role in supporting the homeland in the confrontation of the ongoing global terrorist war.

They stressed determination to return to the battlefield after recovery as to continue their fight against the terrorists.

Members of the guest delegation presented symbolic gifts to the wounded in recognition of their sacrifices in defense of the homeland.
