French Delegation in Damascus to voice solidarity with Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The French delegation visiting Syria, voiced solidarity with Syrian government and people against the systematic terrorism war waged on Syria, stressing that they will convey the real image of terrorism and destruction to their country.

During their meeting with Minster of Tourism, Dr. Bishr Yazigi today at Sheraton Hotel in Damascus, the delegation called for exerting more efforts to attract European and foreign tourists and to encourage investments in Syria, pointing out to the importance of estabilshing a tourist office in Paris to organize trips for the Syrian children living in expatriate to know more about Syrian civilization.

Head of the delegation Rima Khleifawi stressed that the visit, which was organized by the Syrian community in France with the cooperation of the ministry of Tourism, aims to voice solidarity with the Syrian people against the terrorism war and to support the Syrian economy.

She pointed out to the willingness of many French people to visit Syria, particularly after many exhibitions which we held in France to introduce the archaeological and tourist sites of Syria to the french people.

For his part, minister of tourism Dr. Bishr Yazigi affirmed the importance of this visit saying the insistence of the delegation to visit Syria reflects the division between the French people and their government.

“Syria has exposed to a terrorism propaganda war turned to a war that had a big impact on international and human heritage and to the number of tourists and visitors to Syria.”

The minister affirmed Syrians insistence of their national unity saying that Syria was the safest country during 2009 -2010, and was the international tourist destination.

Steffan, a French tourist, said that this is the first time he visited Syria, stressing that he is against the hostile French policy towards Syria.

Bakour Qattan, Syrian inventor in France, said that the aim of his visit is to break the siege imposed on Syria and to create job opportunities through investing his inventions.
