Syria, Iran Discuss Iranian Companies’ Participation in Reconstruction Era

 DAMASCUS, (ST)-Minister of Public Works Hussein Arnous and the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Mohammad Riza Shibani on Monday discussed means of implementing the agreements signed between the two countries in addition to the participation of the Iranian companies in the reconstruction era in Syria.

 Arnous said that plans and studies are being prepared with the purpose of the reconstructing the infrastructure damaged by the terrorist attacks. Work is also underway to build the abilities of the construction companies as to back the national economy, he added, urging the Iranian companies to take part in implementing services projects in the era of reconstruction. 

On his part, the Iranian Ambassador stressed that the Syrian and Iranian view points are identical on ways of benefitting from the abilities of the companies of the two countries to implement future projects.

 He noted that technical committees were formed to implement the projects agreed on in the economic cooperation agreement signed between the two countries.

Last month, Syria and Iran signed an economic cooperation agreement that established a new era of cooperation in the domains of energy, Industry, agriculture and investment.
