Syria, Democratic Korea Facing Common Enemy- Korean Ambassador in Damascus

LATTAKIA – Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Damascus Zhang Meng Hu has reiterated his country’s keenness on enhancing its relations with Syria and expressed his confidence in Syria’s victory in its battle against terrorism.

During a visit on Sunday to the headquarters of the Baath Arab Socialist Party (BASP) in Lattakia, the ambassador said that the normal life as well as the economic and service stability witnessed in the governorate of Lattakia and some other Syrian provinces indicate the vividness of the Syria people and their determination to withstand the global war being wage on their country.

“The peoples of Syria and Democratic Korea are facing a common enemy targeting the independence of the two countries,” he stressed.

On her part, member of the BASP Regional Leadership Fairouz Mousa said that Syria-Democratic Korea relations are increasingly growing in different domains, stressing Syria’s keenness on enhancing the education process and the work of the state’s institutions despite the challenges imposed by the four years old crisis in the country.

Secretary of Lattakia BASP branch Mohammad Shreiteh stressed that the Syrians are united hand in hand in the confrontation of the global terrorist war on Syria.

He explained that Lattakia has received a large number of people displaced by terrorist groups from other governorates, noting that the number of the displaced people is more than the double of the governorate’s inhabitants.

Visiting the National Center for the Excelled Students in Lattakia, the Korean Ambassador highly appreciated the continuity of the education and cultural process in Syria despite the ordeal Syria is passing through.

He hailed the center’s mission represented in caring about the excelled students to help them contribute to the process of reconstruction in Syria. He also expressed hope that Syria will triumph over terrorism and restore peace and security to the citizens.
