ALEPPO,(ST)_ Terrorist organizations have fired several rockets on quarters of al-Slemaneyeh, al-Sayyed and al-Khaledeyeh in Aleppo city, killing at least 8 civilians, a police command source declared Saturday.
The source clarified that the rocket attack, which caused massive damage to buildings and public and private properties, killed at least 8 civilians and wounded over 47others, including 11 children and 17 women.
The process of pulling the bodies, which are still under the rubble of destroyed buildings, is still ongoing.
As many as 5 buildings in al-Slemaneyeh quarter were completely destroyed and 4 buildings in al-Sayyed quarter were partially destroyed.
The rockets were fired by terrorists holed up in the old city of Aleppo, according to the official news agency (SANA).
Terrorist linked to the so-called the’ al-Tawhid’ brigade, the ”al-Fath’ brigade, the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ Movement and the ‘al-Ansar’ Front spread in the old city of Aleppo and they receive support from the Gulf sheikhdoms and the Turkish regime.
On March 23, terrorists fired rockets on al-Jameleyeh quarter and Baron Street, killing at least 12 civilians and wounding 30 others.
Prime Minister Wa’el al-Halqi condemned the terror attack on innocent civilians in Aleppo city, stressing that the escalation of terrorist organizations’ attacks aims at undermining the Syrian people’s steadfastness.
“The Syrian people’s will is the strongest and Aleppo will remain steadfast and will defeat terrorism,” al-Halqi said.
He underlined that all sectors will work to reduce the repercussions of terror attacks on Aleppo city.
Enemies of Humanity
On his part, the Republic Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hasson said that Aleppo city pays the price for its loyalty to homeland.
“Aleppo will be an example of victory and unity among Muslims, Christians, Araba, Kurds, Assyrian and Chaldeans. It is the center of Middle East,” the Mufti said.
He added that those terrorists, who are supported by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, are enemies of humanity and enemies of Allah. “Today’s terror attacks synchronize with the 100 anniversary of Ottomans’ atrocities against the Armenians,” the Mufti declared.
Terrorism- supporters must be held accountable
“The terror attack on Aleppo city is a continuity of atrocities committed by grandfathers of Erdogan against the Armenian.” The spiritual head of the Evangelical Church in Aleppo Bishop Ibrahim Nassir said.
He called for holding terrorism supporters accountable.
Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Ministry declared that Arab regimes that support terrorist organizations in Syria are responsible for today’s massacre that claimed dozens of lives in Aleppo city.
It appealed to the international community to denounce the terror attack on Aleppo city and to hold those responsible for the crime accountable.
Terrorist organizations have targeted urban areas nationwide using mortars, rockets and car bombs.
Last night, a terror blast hit al-Arman quarter in Homs city, killing a child and wounding 7 civilians.
