Iraqi Army Liberates Zalaya, Mekeshafa Areas in Salahuddin Province

The Iraqi Army and populace forces, in a series of operations, targeted the ISIL terrorists’ strongholds in Salahuddin province and liberated Zalaya and Mekeshafa areas form the terrorists’ occupation, an informed source said.

”The Iraqi army supported by the volunteer forces targeted defensive lines of the terrorists of ISIL, and liberated Zalaya area and most of Mekeshafa and reopened the roads that link these areas to Tikrit and Samarra cities,” the source said.

The source further added that the Iraqi troops killed at least 70 terrorists in the abovementioned operations, and wounded so many others.

In late March, the Iraqi army, backed by volunteer forces, made a final push against the ISIL terrorists in Tikrit, and managed to fully liberate the Northern city from the control of the Takfiri group.

The Iraqi army and volunteer forces managed to retake Salahuddin provincial government’s headquarters from the Takfiri group.

Pishmarga Forces kill 10 ISIL terrorists in Iraq’s Mosul

On the other hand,  a source within the Pishmarga forces said that 10 ISIL terrorist were killed in clashes with the Kurdish Pishmarga forces in al-Khazr area, in Eastern Mosul, a military source said.

 “The Kurdish Pishmarga forces  repelled an attack by the ISIL group near the village of Tal-Aswad in the area of al-Khazr, located in the Eastern Mosul,” the source further added.

 “The clashes between the two sides resulted in killing of 10 elements of the ISIL group.”
