French Tourists in Syria: We came to support the Syrians

DAMASCUS, (ST) _ French tourists, group, currently visiting Syria voiced their stand in solidarity with Syria’s government and people, stressing that they “do not represent the French policy, but the French people, and will convey the true picture of what is going of events of the terror and destruction in Syria.”

Joe Mbol, member of the Medical Advisory Board in Paris, said during his tour in the popular market of Tekkiye Mosque in Damascus, “I came to Syria because I love it and I love its people and to express our solidarity with the Syrian people “.

Marie Noel, former Helper for children with disabilities said that she came to Syria five years before the crisis and the war against it, adding that her current visit aims, “to stand with Syria and its people in these circumstances.”

 Daniel, a former nurse said that “what is happening in Syria is a great loss and painful,” adding, “We came to support the Syrians and to convey the real picture to the French people through sharing moments of difficult circumstances with the Syrian people,” noting that this land is sacred and the West and Europeans civilization are derived from it .

Tourism minister Bisher Yazigy said during a meeting with the group that of many Western delegations at the official and popular levels are coming to Syria, pointing out that all visitors coming to Syria are ambassadors of truth and justice, “calling for conveying the real image of Syria without distortion.

For his part, director of promotion and marketing department at the ministry Bassam Parsek said that the visit of the French tourist group is part of religious tourism to know about the situation in Syria, stressing that the ministry provided all facilities required for their visit, pointing out the significant role played by the Syrian communities abroad to this end, and that the ministry is currently preparing for 7 exhibitions in several Western countries in cooperation with the Syrian expatriates.

Owner of the tourist office, which brought the French tourists Mahmoud Arnaout said the group will be visiting Damascus, Sidnaya and Maloula, Krak des Chevaliers in Homs, Tartous and Lattakia and other archaeological and tourist sites.
