Some 2000 People Ensured Safe Exit from al-Yarmouk Camp

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Syrian Arab Army in cooperation with the alliance of Palestinian factions and the Palestinian national defense forces in al-Yarmouk Refugee Camp in Damascus managed over the past two days to evacuate more than 2000 people fleeing the atrocities of the terrorist organization calling itself  the “Islamic State”  (ISIS) and al-Nousra Front in al-Yarmouk camp.

The fleeing locals were moved to temporary sheltering centers in al-Tadamoun and al-Zahera neighborhoods near the camp. The Syrian government equipped the centers with all basic needs for the displaced people.

Some of the locals told to the state news agency SANA that the Syrian army, the Palestinian factions and the national defense forces helped them get out of the camp after the terrorists of ISIS and al-Nousra Front attacked their houses and committed crimes against the people in the area.

They said the terrorists kidnapped tens of people, committed massacres against some others who resisted them, looted the properties of the people and destroy their houses.

Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al-Shammat visited the temporary Sheltering Center in Zeinab al-Hilaleya School to check the condition of the displaced families.

In a statement to reporters, al-Shammat talked about the fast response of the ministry and the General Commission of the Palestinian Refugees to all the basic requirements of the centers, clarifying that several programs aiming to provide psychological and health care to women and children are to be implemented.

She pointed out that the Syrian government deals with the Palestinian refugees in the same way it deals with the Syrians. “It has opened sheltering centers to the Palestinian families which left the camp exactly as it did with the Syrian families displaced from their areas because of the terrorist attacks,” she said.

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to help all the people trapped by the terrorist groups in al-Yarmouk Camp get out from there particularly the women and children regardless their nationality.

On Wednesday, the Turkish, Qatari and Saudi-backed terrorist al-Nousra Front facilitated the infiltration of ISIS terrorists into al-Yarmouk camp to abort the Syrian government’s efforts to keep the Palestinians away from the ongoing events in the country.

The terrorists of ISIS and al-Nousra beheaded five people and shot dead two others in front of the locals. They also booby trapped tens of houses.
