Syria, Democratic Korea Exchange Views on Syrian Women’s Role in Enhancing Steadfastness, Building Society
DAMASCUS, (ST)-The role the Syrian women have been playing in enhancing national steadfastness in the confrontation of the ongoing terrorist war on their country was the focus of the meeting held on Wednesday between Ambassador of Democratic Korea in Damascus Zhang Meung Hu and Majeda Quteit, Chairperson of the General Union of Syrian Women.
Hu reiterated his country’s support for Syria in the battle against the armed terrorist organizations and stressed his confidence in the wisdom of the Syrian leadership and the ability of the Syrian people to eliminate terrorism and foil the scheme which the U.S., Israel, Western forces and their tools are trying to implement in the region.
He asserted the need to boost bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries in all domains, referring to the Korean advanced expertise in the areas of health, education and women role in building societies.
On her part, Quteit said that both Syria and Democratic Korea are facing common challenges and hegemony schemes sought to be implemented by the United States to undermine peoples’ aspirations in maintaining their sovereignty and independent political decision.
Quteit, who thanked Democratic Korea for its supportive stance towards Syria, underlined the need to enhance cooperation between the women unions of both countries and to exchange expertise in women training and empowerment programs.
