HANOI,(ST)_Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly [Parliament] has separately reviewed with heads of the Uruguayan, Vietnamese, Venezuelan and Seychelles Parliamentary delegations in Hanoi repercussions of the international terrorism, which mushrooms in the Middle East region and the whole world .
Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham asserted during his today’s meeting with Deputy President of the Senate of Uruguay Ivonne Pasada the key role Parliaments in combatting terrorism and pressing governments to abide by the international law and respecting countries’ sovereignty.
The talks between the two sides also dealt with bilateral Parliamentary relations and means of developing economic cooperation between Syria and Uruguay for the common interest of the two countries’ peoples.
While al-Lahham’s meeting with Deputy Chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, zeroed in on ways of enhancing the economic and parliamentary cooperation between Syria and Vietnams.
The foreign-backed terrorism that hit Syria and the U.S. intervention in South American countries’ internal affairs were discussed by the Syrian Speaker and head of the Venezuelan delegation Dario Vivas.
Add to that al-Lahham discussed with Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles Patrick Herminie the situation in the ME plus bilateral parliamentary relations.
The meetings were held on the sideline of the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which concluded today in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital.
Al-Lahham called during his meetings for supporting Syria and its people in combatting terrorism.
