Syrian army makes fresh progress in western mountains of Zabadani area, continues its operations nationwide
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has made a fresh progress in the western mountains of al-Zabadani area outside Damascus and has foiled terrorists’ infiltration bids into safe areas in Daraa al-Balad in southern Daraa province, the official news agency (SANA) said Monday.
The agency clarified that army units continued their military operations in the western mountains of al-Zabadani area outside Damascus and regained control of Sho’aib al-Ald and plateau 1715.
The fresh progress came a day after army units advanced towards Dhur al-Baidar hill overlooking al-Zabadani city in the wake of a series of concentrated strikes during which many terrorist linked to the al-Nusra Front and the so-called the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ movement were killed.
The concentrated strikes synchronized with eliminating a terrorist group as it was trying to infiltrate from the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus into al-Dmier area.
13 terrorists killed
As many as 13 terrorists linked to the so-called the “Islam Army’ and the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ Movement were killed and injured in farms of Tal Kerdi and al-Rihan in the northern and northeastern edges of Duma city outside Damascus.
Activists confirmed through social media the death of 10 terrorists in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus.
About 66km south-west of Damascus, precisely in Quneitra province, army units destroyed three terrorist hideouts plus a mortar emplacement belonging to the al-Nusra Front in Mas’hara town and north-west of Tal Ahmar area.
Two terrorist hideouts belonging to the al-Nusra Front, the ‘fajr al-Islam’ brigade and al-forqan brigades were pounded in Be’ar al-Ajam and al-Briqa town, south-east of Quneitra city.
Terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front were mowed down in Jelin, Da’el and Tafas towns in southern Daraa province.
There were two infiltration bids by terrorists into safe areas in Daraa al-Balad in the same province, but army units foiled them.
Last night, army units repelled terrorist attack on Em Jame’a town in the eastern countryside of Homs.
The province of Homs witnessed military operations against terrorist organizations in towns of Abo Hwadit, al-Saleheyeh, Mas’ada and al-Msherfeh, a military source said, adding that scores of terrorists on the outskirts of Taldo town square.
